GOS students’ Graphic Design experience at TENCENT (October 2013)
Students of Green Oasis School, Shenzhen, studying in Y10 had the wonderful opportunity to be trained by the top Art Designer of China's largest and most used Internet service portal “TENCENT”. Tencent has several internet based platforms including– QQ Messenger, WeChat, QQ.com, QQ Games, Qzone, 3g.QQ.com, SoSo, PaiPai and Tenpay.
Our students got the opportunity to be a part of QQGames in which they worked on designing the characters of the game called “League of Legend”. This was a chance for them to create a character which they would like to see and have for playing a game like that. They learnt how to design the skin of a character and saw how step by step the character was brought into motion (using 3D graphics) and further bringing movement to the character such that it seems all real. They saw how the gaming world is brought into effect and the children all around the world find it most interesting to be involved in.
Ronald Liu, Arthur Liu, Sricharan, Kaustubha Wawage, ManHin Wong & Mike Liu of Y10 had the opportunity to create their own characters and also learn the tricks of Graphics Design. Since this entire process takes about 2 months from conceptualizing to the finished product they were unable to get into the details of design. However, this was a very good opportunity for them to get some hands on experience of technology.
