We began the academic year with a phenomenal blast off in our first unit – 'Stargazers'.

The atmosphere within the classrooms has been one of excitement as students share their knowledge and explore their creativity. It's a memorable experience to witness students fully engaged and intrigued by what they are learning.

Our journey through this unit began with their understanding of the solar system in the form of a mind map.

The second part of this unit gave students the opportunity to create a myth about our solar system. Their myths were imaginative and displayed amazing vocabulary.

A creation myth

The third part of this unit not only allowed students to investigate, construct, and present their understanding and interpretation of the information covered in this unit, but also to celebrate their achievements. Students recreated the surface of the Moon by using recycled material. Thereafter, they were given a space mission as part of our “Innovate week”. Our young engineers built space rovers with much enthusiasm and were eager to put them through rigorous testing. The outcome has been phenomenal, with work that displays quality and enrichment.

In our final weeks of 'Stargazers', our young journalists will pen newspaper articles on space landings. Finally, students would create a detailed character profile of an alien and bring it to life with modeling clay. We look forward to a unique invasion from another world!
