First aid training for staff

In order to familiarize staff on-site with first aid knowledge and improve the teachers’ ability to respond to crisis events, GOS invited trainers from the Shenzhen First Aid Center to give first aid skills training to staff on Sunday 26th September. The teachers successfully completed the training and the course assessment with the lively explanation and live demonstration from trainers.

Four-step method of first aid

On the day of the training, it focused on the "four-step method of first aid"

1. Safety assessment (Site safety, Self safety, Mass safety, Patient safety)

2. Injury Identification (reaction, breathing, Massive hemorrhage)

3. Call for help from others (Shout for help, Call 120, Take the AED)

4. Rescue at the scene (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Foreign body stuck throat, Trauma first aid)

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and using electrical defibrillation (AED)

On the training day, we focused on the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using electrical defibrillation (AED). There are both important methods to get valuable time for the wounded at the emergency scene.

1. The trainers conducted a cardiopulmonary resuscitation demonstration and emphasized the key points.

2. Teachers grouped for CPR exercises.

3. The teacher in the emergency center demonstrated how to use AED

4. Teachers practised the use of AED on the spot.

Handling of foreign body stuck throat

The teachers learned how to deal with the emergency of foreign body stuck throat in infants and adults.

The trainers conducted an emergency turnaround drill.

After finishing the training, we took a first aid assessment. The examination is divided into two parts. First part is the first aid knowledge and theory examination. The second part is practical examination of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of AED.

Through the lively explanations from trainers and the hard work of the teachers, everyone completed the training and passed the relevant assessments. The participation rate is 100% and the pass rate is 100%.

The teachers who participated in the training said that it was very practical after this training,. They learned a lot of first-aid knowledge, and initially mastered the common sense and approach to first-aid treatment through this training, which is of great significance to society and families.
