Fire Safety Week

The week beginning Monday 8th November has been designated Fire Safety Week in Shenzhen.  To help our younger children understand how to prevent fires and the important work firemen do, we invited the Tianmian fire brigade to school to talk to the Year 1-3 students.

They arrived in their fire truck.

First, they talked to us about dangers around school and home.

Then one of the firemen put on his protective clothing and showed how the equipment worked.

Next they unrolled the hosepipe to shouts of excitement from the children.

Our favourite moment was when they showed us the power of the water when they sprayed it from the hose and the roof of the fire engine.  By then the sun was so powerful it made a rainbow.

We would like to thank the fire brigade for coming to school and showing us how hard they work and how important they are to keep us safe.
