Wellness is from your heart
Author: Ms Nancy Chen
Last Thursday (20th May), there was a morning parent talk about “Wellness” hosted by our Principal Ms.Swan. During the talk, Ms.Swan stressed that wellness is not only representing for good physical condition, but also social and emotional wellbeing. These three parts are inseparable and interactional. Strong body and positive state of mind make our students successful both in academic work and their lives.
GOS attaches great importance to students’ wellness. Therefore since the beginning of May, we have been holding a series of activities about “Wellness”.
In PSHE class, we discuss “Transition” with our students. We expect that they learn to recognize their emotions, deal with changes in life and be confident about stepping in to the new school year.
We also have relevant activities at break time. Students each week can see different prompt on the writing wall and express their feelings and thoughts freely. Meanwhile there are various ways for them to engage in being aware of their emotions and regulating them.
We hope that they enjoy the rest of this school year and thrive inside and outside of the classroom.
