At Green Oasis School, the Primary ICT / Computing program helps students become confident, creative, and responsible users of technology through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Across Years 1–6, students develop digital literacy, computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while exploring a wide range of technology topics aligned with the National Curriculum for England for Computing. Lessons include opportunities to create digital media, develop programming skills, explore coding and physical computing through interactive projects, and work with data and information. Students are also encouraged to use technology safely and responsibly while building confidence using a variety of digital tools and software, strengthening both digital literacy and Digital Citizenship.
The ICT / Computing program at GOS is designed to prepare students for an increasingly digital future while making learning meaningful, practical, and enjoyable. Lessons regularly incorporate project-based learning, creativity, teamwork, and independent exploration, allowing students to apply their skills to real-world situations and challenges. Through coding activities, multimedia projects, data handling tasks, presentations, and technology-based problem solving, students learn how to think critically, communicate effectively, and design innovative digital solutions. The program promotes curiosity, resilience, and innovation while helping students build a strong foundation in modern technology skills from an early age.
